I love towers, but I do not know enough about the sport yet to try it I use this site to find, and find out more about towers in my area. You just enter in your state, and it gives you the listings of tower heights(in meters), owner, type(free standing ect), and county. The only thing is you need a gps to find it. It is like a brochure for towers 
there is a 1999 foot tower right near my house, out in the middle of nowhere with 100 or more pasture surrounding it. tower search
