The first event at the Petronas was a New Year's Eve Demo.
We had no ramps, (*most) jumps just from the edge, with no strikes.
(*We did a few jumps from the gondola, no strikes).
Correction:
The next event at Petronas was the first competition, and actually, the
ramp was in place then, however..........some genius built the ramp so
that it went UNDER THE RAIL. Yes, it's true. They took all the time and
money to build a running launch ramp, but built it under the rail.
The ramp was about 15 feet long, and extended about three feet past
the railing and past the plane of the sheer building. When I first saw
it built as such, I was surprized. Anyway, so jumpers were running
down the ramp and over the rail which was about a six inch hurdle.
Seen as a safety hazard, they disallowed running down the ramp.
