 A long time skydiver and very, very close friend of mine Dave Flannell as passed away. I'm still getting details myself.

Any detail please....Dave was a very good friend of mine and he was a one of the guys who taught my DZO how to skydive......He will be missed greatly. He definitly was One of the GOOD GUYS out there

Please understand that this is third and fourth hand information that I received. Apparently he was on a base jumping expedition to the caves in Mexico. While rappelling to the bottom of the cave to scout out a landing sight something went wrong and he fell the last 300-400 feet. No other definitive information available at this point. I'm sure someone will post more information as it becomes available.

No matter how it occurred, this is very sad news. My sincere condolences to family and friends.

Oh no. A friend of mine organizes expeditions like this one. I've seen lots of video and it looks like it would be a wonderful time for BASE jumpers.

In speaking w/ Jim this was a repelling accident as they were checking out the landing area in the cave. Dave is already greatly missed...
