Hi, do you know who made this jump from bridge with car? What canopy and container he used?

Looked like he used a Fox canopy and a Vertex container. Both are made by Basic Research.

...Could be wrong, I only watched the movie twice.

didnt have a look at the container,but he use multibridel,so i do belive its a fox...

In an interview I saw with Vinaigrette Dicksle about XXX he certainly gave the impression that it was him doing the stunt................... no shame........

I also believe that Tim who did the stunt is from the UK - but I maybe wrong..............

Yes, he is English. Actually he jumped at Hinton on a visit to the UK. Check with Carter, he was freeflying with him.

Anyone know what the deal was from Hollywood to those in charge of the bridge? If I remember correctly, that bridge isn't legal to jump, but with the right amount of monetary donation, it became OK.

Just wondering how much you have to pay to legally drive a sports car over teh railing, disrupting traffic, hauling stuff out, when it is illegal to climb over and mind your own business?

Anyone have any legal background, if the allowing to do that once sets a legal precident?

You can get filming permits for the bridge. The IPBC used to hold competitions there on a film permit, but the county figured out that they were actually holding a BASE competition, rather than filming a movie about a BASE competition.

The requirements didn't used to be that bad (groups of a dozen jumpers used to band together and buy permits for a legal day), but they have become steadily more onerous over the years, to the point that only real hollywood types have been able to afford them recently.

Would anyone be interested in trying to apply for a permit? I figure if we could get enough people together (no idea what this would take) we might have a shot at it.

If nothing else, we would know exactly what is required to apply for a permit.

Who was in charge of attaining the permits for the IPBC comps? Maybe I could talk to them.

I'd be up for that. Maybe with the right presentation before, and right behavior during, it might not be so hard. Let me know what I can do to help...

Avery got the permits. I've talked to him. There have also been two other groups (one of them fairly legitimate documentary filmmakers) who have tried, and failed to get permits since then.

The impression I get (I wasn't inside any of the efforts) is that it's really just a question of cash. But the dollar amount has gone up enough that it's not too feasible, even with an IPBC style event (i.e. 30 or 40 people each paying $250 or so).

That's exactly what it was. Every requested detail was met to the letter but still the crew was denied.

About one week later, BMW was blowing shit up on the bridge. Money talks....

That's too bad because I'd really like to make a jump from that bridge someday...hehe...

Yes, this jump was made by Tim Rigby using Basic Research gear. Todd Shoebotham and Harry O'Connor were both on the set. Harry was technical director for the BASE jump portion of the stunt with Todd assisting, and both Todd and Harry got bit parts as Highway Patrolmen and were dressed up accordingly...I never thought I'd like a guy in a cop uniform, but Todd looked great! :)

The stunt was absolutely fabulous! Tim did an awesome job, as always, and he completely deserved the award he got for it. I watched the movie simply to see the stunt...and if you look closely you'll see Tim is quite a bit leaner built than Van Disel...no question it wasn't Van Disel jumping!

As far as I can tell, if you're making a movie and have money, you can get permission to do just about anything you want. That's entertainment!

Look on the bright side, at least you can go visit a beautiful movie location if you want to. Since it is pretty high, be prepared... in case you fall off.
