Well, we're off to Eye Dee Ho. Just got reservations at the incomparable Shilo Inn which loves us:

"Ok sir, that will be $108.95 plus tax per night for the king size bed."

"Oh, that's quite a lot. But I forgot to mention that we're base jumpers."

"I'm sorry, what did you say?"

"B-A-S-E jumpers. It's a special for that Shilo Inn only. It has a discount for base jumpers."

"Hold one second please while I check into that."

... 20 seconds pass ...

"Thank you for holding. Yes sir, we do have a discount. I'm sorry I didn't know before. That will be $78.95 per night plus tax. Would you like your confirmation code?"

"Thank you."

Reminds me of when I was in the Holiday Inn at last year's Bridge Day. There was a sign that said "BASE Jumpers Welcome!" in the lobby.

I turned to my friend and said "Boy, you don't see signs like *that* very often!"

The Sizzler near Elsinore gives 10% off to skydivers. That's more of a punishment, though, I guess.
