After running BLiNC since 1993, I have finally spent several thousand dollars to revamp the look-and-feel of BLiNC Magazine.
I know many of the orginal patrons of BLiNC have moved here to DZ.com, as well as many skydivers have never discovered what I have been been spending 100% of my time and extra money on for 10 years now, but....

Try BLiNC again.....

The look-and-feel is easier as to the users feedback, and there are still over 4,000 document on BASE JUMPING only.
No skydiving.
Not to mention much much more...

And, as many of you might not know, without traffic, site cannot exist. So without patronage, there is no way to survive. So the patronage you once had for BLiNC, is needed more than ever.

Mick... I stayed away from BLINC for the longest time since the site just hurt my eyes... I'm very impressed with the redesign and will consider making it part of my reading again.

I think you got a nice look at the site.I keep looking at the site.
I think people are back again as you got the new design,not saying they are leaving dz.com but we got a new solid place to ask Q´s and get answers.I hope people realize that they will learn more to look at ALL the forums,while there are different oppinions out there

I don't think too many jumpers have moved from Blinc to DZ.com. I suspect that most of us read both websites.

Just try not to censor the thing so much as to remove all the good posts.....

I actually on cencor sight names. Just like dz.com.
There is far more freedom on BLiNC than there is in dz,com, so that comment in _WAY_ out of line in my opinion.

Yes most people _READ_ both, but they are starting to post more on dz.com about BASE jumping issues that have been the focuc of BLiNC for 10 years.

The Royal goarge is like El Cap as far as names. It is not a hidden object that has not been jumped. This is also like devulging the Empire State Building. It has been jumped before. This is not new news.

Was Blinc really on the web in 1993? Most domains didn't even start being purchased until 1994. Big deal who was first, best, whatever. Why all the hype about BASE forums anyway? It's just a friggin' forum where a few hundred jumpers go everyday. If you don't like the payoff for running the forum, take it down bro.

is this to say that as long as it's not a virgin object it's okay to talk all about it in public forums?

if you start talking about the object i'm working on, i'll be pissed, and it's been jumped before.

the less the name is out there in the context of jumping the better unless it's legal. are they legalizing the bridge launch as well? seems like it'd be even safer.

Hucker, I am with you 100%. Even considering our LEGAL terminal wall, about which lots of people brag about its beauty, its fantasticness, lots of skydivers read about it, buy a BASE rig, make a 3000 km trip and off you go the exit point...
Yes, it's legal, yes, it could be "easy" for a well trained newby, but for an untrained newbie can be a nightmare.
No naming sites. Never. It is NOT necessary. It is unfair for the locals that you brag about your fantastic BASE journey, and leave the locals to live and cope with the consequences (BASE wannabies that WANT to be taken up the exit, jumps with an impossible weather/wind (impossible also for very well trained and experienced locals)...).
Just my 0.02€.

I actually started hacking with HTTP in 1991 and got my first domain in 1993 called websolutions.com which I later sold when I purchased BASE Logic.com after the corporation websolutions was hijacked. Oh well.
I later purchased BLiNC Magazine after Michelle came up with that name.

most of the discussions here are _not_ skydivers looking into BASE, they are very in depth questions about BASE.

Thank you for actually helping me to find out about the status of national news as a slap in the face on this skydiving forum instead of actually emailing me.
