While reading through some of my back issues of PARACHUTIST I came upon what is now the very first modern BASE fatality. This fatality occurred in 1981 and predates what I thought was the first BASE fatality by about a year. I have updated the List to reflect this fact and the List now stands at 72 fatalities.

Sobering indeed, but that well documented list of pioneers, has probably saved many lives.
