Re: [jumppilot01] Friendly BASE jumpers?
I rented a rig from
Vertigo for this year's Bridge Day. Real nice Warlock with a Dagger main. I think it was Marta's spare rig. Rented it for $250, which may sound like a lot, but it is new, state of the art BASE gear and she offered an equipment discount of that amount if I purchased a rig from them.
Any FJC will also provide gear for you as part of the course. Note that the "classes" at Bridge Day aren't really anything resembling one of the dedicated courses you'd get at CR, BR, Vertigo... they are more or less 1 hour Packing 101 deals. I had 400 skydives and I left that class not knowing much more about BASE packing than when I came in.
To really learn that stuff in depth, find a BASE mentor and/or take a FJC.
