Re: [Faber] Info from Melaysia
This year's event has been really spectacular. By now, over 1000 jumps and no major incidents. The Malaysians really are great hosts - they have really been fun to meet and have been really accepting of all the eccentricities that comes along with having sixty jumpers from all over the world in town for two weeks.
The last two days of aeiral competition from KL tower have been spectacular. Lots of really solid work from a wide range of jumpers, along with th requisite amount of flailing, flapping, spinning disasters. It has been a great learning experience for everyone, and I am quite sure this event will prove to be very popular in the future.
Off I go for a few more flops off KL; the combined effect of 30 or so jumps in 8 days are certainly taking their toll on my old body, but it is hard to sit out the time with a legal, 1000 foot, overhung building only a $2 taxi ride away
Oh, and Gil has made available heaps of good photos at
http://www.foolpix.com. He's a cool guy and a great photographer, and even got a jump off KL today with a solid delay!
Peace,
