Consolidated Rigging
Can anyone tell me if Consolidated Rigging is on vacation or if they are still open? I've tried to contact them multiple ways for two weeks and can't get a response. Thanks in advance.

Re: [thirtypack] Consolidated Rigging
I’m not sure how much they actively do in base as PD has been producing their canopies for a while, and I don’t imagine there are many new aces or blackjacks getting produced these days. What are you looking for help with?

Re: [thirtypack] Consolidated Rigging
They are around, it's just really slow. We've ordered a couple of items from them recently (line kits, lower control lines) that have taken a very long time for delivery. (Over one month is all I can confirm from memory.)

I'm needing lower control line for my Black Jack 310.

We've gotten some things from them pretty recently, including new canopies.

I'm not sure what the status of their business communications and hours are during the holiday season, though.

It takes about ten minutes to build lowers. Any competent rigger should be able to do it, just copying your existing lower.

If you're ever in Twin Falls, I can show you how to do it for your canopy, if you'd like, and you can use our equipment to build some new lowers for yourself.

Re: [TomAiello] Consolidated Rigging
If you're copying off the existing lowers, do you need account for stretch in the dacron?

Re: [BodeyM] Consolidated Rigging
Tom I’m just curious, is the contact Adam or through PD?

As for copying old lowers, both the brake settings and the toggle position are infinitely changeable, so much less risk than a load bearing line.

Yes.

But it's actually not that important if you are using the (fairly shallow) factory brake settings, anyway. Just don't make them any deeper than the factory (and they'll get shallower with stretch). Toggles on the factory lowers are user-configured (backstop knot, no sewn loop from the factory), so you're going to be establishing that on test jumps anyway.

Plus, if you build your own, you can use the Simon Perriard's (newer) loop style brake settings, so you won't need to replace them again (probably ever).

Thanks Tom. I contacted PD and they are taking care of it for me.

When I ordered a new blackjack last year it did take a few weeks of calling and emailing before they responded. Turns out they were actually on vacation. I received quick service once they were available.
