Parking overnight at Centennial Park?
Attention Twin Falls locals (or anyone who knows). Looking to do an overnight kayak/camping trip along the Snake. Launch at the park and paddle to Shoshone falls. I’d like my wife to see some jumps from below so well stop at the bridge. My question is: I called the visitors center to ask about overnight camping along the river, that’s allowed. What I’m being told is no overnight parking at Centennial Park where the launch is. So where can I leave my car for just Saturday night while I’m camped on the river? Are they strict about this policy? Like issuing tickets/towing vehicles? Many years ago when I was an active jumper I slept in the back of my pickup for a couple nights in the park with no issues. I’m sure it’s very different nowadays?

Looking for suggestions from the base community as I know most of us are kinda dirt bags and well sleep anywhere hahahahaha :)

FYI I’m not a whffo I’m just an old retired jumper with 400ish jumps.

Re: [dride] Parking overnight at Centennial Park?
I slept there last night with my girl. It was awesome...until we were woken up by the sheriff at 2am and told we can't sleep there. He took our identification and checked us out. I name dropped a friend who is a friend of his. He told us to get out of there. You can park up down the road that goes left at the switchback as it is BLM (land down towards Auger). If the sheriff nabs you, be polite, call him sir, your life will be easier that way;)

99.9% of all law enforcement in and around the bridge are super cool. Somewhere in the stickeys is a go/no-go list of overnight spots.

But yes, basic courtesy regardless of your opinion of authority, goes a long way.

Barring that, drop Tom's name. I do that when I travel. Laugh

I realize I'm late to this thread, but the thing to do is park overnight at the trailhead above the park.

They clear the park out because they lock the gate. If they have a car down there they assume there has been some kind of boating accident, and they have to contact the owners to verify that there isn't a missing boater out not the river.
