What was this supposed to be about? Is there still something going to happen?

It's my understanding that they got less than 10 people to sign up. So no, there is no event planned at this point.

I'm pretty relieved that they cancelled. They scheduled it last month, and were going to try to close the bridge to other jumpers. We had a course scheduled for those days (which we scheduled about a year ago) with students flying from outside the USA on non-refundable airline tickets, so we were going to be in a position of having to juggle a lot of scheduling to try to avoid their proposed closures.

Closing the bridge to other jumpers would be pretty shitty.

We chatted with the organizers (at the tourism board) about our willingness to help promote, sponsor, etc. They didn't seem too interested in our help.

That said, if we had known they were going to close the bridge to other jumpers during their event we wouldn't have even offered. It never occurred to us that they would restrict access to people not on their special list.

People are surely disappointed after hearing/reading this news.

I'm not after hearing they wanted to close the bridge for themselves. WTF.
