Any real answers here? I was working on an article and in the interview they asked if I was the youngest. I told them to put one of the youngest because I don't want to spread misinformation and hate incorrect articles. It was 19 and 2 months for me, if theres anyone who started right at 18 or something I'll just have them leave that whole part out.

I was wondering if the guy with the Micron at Brento might have beaten you but I looked him up on the list and he was 25.

Maybe you are it. Congratulations if so. Cool

What about Jed, Miff's son? He was 18 when he started BASE, and I know he had around 600 skydives then, and went to Norway shortly after that. Was he flying wing suits?

Talking to the media never seems to be good for us when it’s after a bust or trying to make a cool story out of illegal jumpers where they promise not to expose you and then do.... When they want to wait something on legal jumping and what goes into back country wingsuit BASE and discuss the science behind laser profiles and gps data and the steps we take to increase our safety it can go OK. Time will tell.

He was tracking. I don't think he's been back out on a big exit since. That was 2012.

Re: [YODO] Youngest wingsuit BASE jumper?
Brad does have a point.

Non jumpers will never understand what we do or why.
Legal or illegal exit we will always be viewed as simply crazy, no matter how well thought out an article or media piece, it is always sensationalism...but party on Daniel!

I pretty much agree. He asked when I started and made a comment about how I must be the youngest and started writing stuff down. So I told him to hold off till I can check. Figured that’s a better fun fact to add for them than whatever else they’d try to come up with to grab attention.

But yeah to me I couldn’t really care less. Doesn’t change what I’m doing or will do not what anyone else has done. I’m sure with the wingsuit wind tunnel we’re gonna have some 9 year old paraglider learn to fly a wingsuit and then get the skills to take it off a cliff before he even makes a skydive Sly I’m just trying to do my best to keep the record straight through this whole story.

Take it as you will, I've got plenty of stuff worth bragging about if I wanted to, age seems a bit silly. The only one it seems impressive to would be wuffos. The only impressive thing to the jumping community about starting young would maybe be surviving the years of an under developed brain before 25 and all the stupid decisions that go along with that Wink

first skydive was on my 18th B-day, the summer after graduating highschool. I got my A-license before starting a full-ride mechanical engineering degree, but dropped out after a couple months and moved into a schoolbus at the dropzone to concentrate on what was important to me.

I've been around BASE for awhile and I gotta say that DFR is not someone that brags or stokes his own ego. I met him when he was first getting in BASE and he was and still is a very humble person. Totally respectful of ethics, history, wanting to learn all he could so he could do the right thing for himself and the sport. He's the real deal, his head is on straight, he makes good decisions, and he's very talented to boot. I'm kind of an old fart at this point, but I'd share anything with him in regards to objects, projects, events, etc. He's out there responsibly carving his own path and advancing the sport. He's a good dude.

Sadly this thread is all about your own ego Daniel. There is nothing humble about you or any of your threads. tragic.

You've certainly got acting like the youngest wingsuit BASE jumper down... so they should at least give you credit for that much.
