Outlawlite 282 vs PD Proxy 260
Does anyone know how close the pack volume is on these?

The Outlaw will be larger, for sure. The Proxy packs roughly 1 size smaller than the Outlaw (light), so I'd expect a Proxy 260 to pack about the same as an Outlaw (light) 248.

Tom are you talking about a Vented Proxy with Dacron lines ?

I'm guessing Tom is talking about the standard version that comes with 825 microlines and no vents.

PAC valves (vents) and dacron lines come as option

Unvented, spectra lines.

When the Proxy was first released, PD sent us the first one they produced in each size to test pack tray sizing for them (because PD doesn't have any BASE pack trays in house, and wanted feedback on real world packing into trays to supplement their computer modeling of pack volumes).

Tom, have you tested the canopy and can say sth about how it opens/flies?

The vented or unvented version?

We only had the unvented version, and since it was really a slider up canopy, we were pretty much doing PCAs (or some short delays) off the bridge. I don't have a lot of commentary on the openings. It's basically an unvented canopy doing slider down openings--probably not something most jumpers today are interested in.

It was very high performance to fly. Lots of glide, lots of speed, lots of flare. It was quite difficult to shut it down and sink it, though, and it really needed quite a bit of runway to land. Really fun, but not what I'd choose for technical landing areas.

For it's design intent (slider up jumps with good landing areas) it seems pretty good. It's really a competitor to the Ibex and Peak--not really in the same group as the slatted canopies (Outlaw, Hayduke, OSP, Vision) at all.

Remember that I'm talking about the unvented version here--it was pretty much intended as a big wall canopy.
