Jumping in Ukraine
Are there any exits on the Carpathians? Also, Duga Tower seems fun! Let me know what Ukraine has to offer!Smile

Re: [TheHungarian] Jumping in Ukraine
Nah, Carpathians don't have any vertical.

What Ukraine does have, is a shit load of A and B and S, mainly up to 200 meters range.

Duga is tricky and take some time to prepare and execute(depends on how much gear you are willing to risk confiscated Smile)

E, including some bigsuit exits, are all in Crimea. Unless you count a 30 meter mine wall as an EWink

It was fairly easy to pull off till just a few months ago. Even few tour operators, that take people (officially) into the zone, allowed their clients to climb duga. They just looked the other way ;)
But last year there was a fatal accident... a dude from Belarus died there (non jumper). So this winter, the bottom parts of ladders of duga have been cut down (it's not super difficult to climb up without the first ladder though - just bring a climbing harness and a bit of rope for safety), and I'm sure the security now pays more attention of what's going on around the object.

When I'm ready to jump it, who should I contact? It will probably be about a year before I'm out that way.

It's a forest. After all, soviet maps had a summer camp there as cover. Tough communist childhoodSmile
