Fatality – VALERY ROZOV – Nepal, 11 November 2017
Valery Rozov died during a BASE jump from Ama Dablam (6814), Nepal. During the acclimatization he performed the first jump from Ama Dablam from a height of 6000 meters. The second was planned to be done after the ascent.
On the 11th of November after reaching the top of Ama Dablam Valery performed his last jump.
Sergey Kovalev, the leader of the expedition, reported on the fatality via a satellite phone. A helicopter was sent to the location of the tragedy.
Valery’s body was found in the crack, recovered, and taken to the hospital in Kathmandu. It will be send to Moscow tomorrow at 9am. There are no further details of the accident at this moment.
