Line Release Toggles

Any first hand experience clearing a line over with line release toggles? Anybody who had a line over and did not have time to use line release toggles?

Anybody out there who thinks they are a waste of money and add unnecessary complexity to the system?

Just curious Cool

Re: [e.a.hernandez] Line Release Toggles
Never had to clear a line over with or without line release toggles, but I find it hard to believe that hook knifing the proper line would be easier, or faster, than releasing a WLO.

That said, I've seen some impressive footage of Tom Aiello clearing a lineover in LB with a hook knife, so it can be done!

Yes, I had a spinning lineover and cleared it. I must thank Mark Hewitt again for telling me LORM mods was the way togo. It was my sixth BASE. I was jumping with BASE #1. take care and dont be a sheep.

Release toggles are just a gimmick
My padawan managed to inadvertently release one toggle while trying to turn from an off heading opening on a 160ft jump, he's lucky he only sprained his ankle landing.

Successfully Clearly A Line-Over
I have seen footage of Tom A. using a hook knife.

I have not seen footage of a Line-Release toggle used.

Would be interested to watch so please share, thanks. Smile

That's why for slider down I use conventional toggles with the Line Release Mod (outside the ring). I only use Line Release Toggles for slider up.

Exactly! Always use the simplest configuration that will get the job done. Fewer failure modes.
