Vampire Sukhoi/S2/Alpine
Does anyone here have experience flying these suits without the fins?

I jumped a Venom Power for around 150-200 jumps and loved it, but honestly hated the fins. I took them off after about 20 jumps and never used them again. Without the fins the suit flew perfectly and I loved it.

Looking for a new big suit and interested in the new Vampire line...but I'd prefer no fins. Anyone flying them like this?

I have been skydiving a Vampire Race prototype without the fins. Works fine, but doesn't feel as precise in turns as it does with the fins.
I think with poor technique it has the potential to feel a bit skaty without the fins. So maybe don't go flying hardcore proximity lines with poor technique.
Not that anyone out there would do that of course. Wink

I fly the suits without fins at times, depending on what Im doing.
Skydiving wise, they can be a bit of work in the plane, so at times I opt to not fly with them.

On aggressive flying, the fins keep the tail more in line, and make sharp and snappy turns quite easy.
Without the fins the suits are still easy and agile, but just a slight step down in precision on the really balls to the walls flying stuff.

Im curious as to the future of the fins. Have there been changes to the design since they first came out? Ive never jumped them, but they've always intrigued me. Ive kind of always liked Robi's 'fighter jet" type approach.

The fins have increased in size a small bit compared to the initial versions. Making their effect a bit more pronounced.

Even for stuff like full flight / performance, its a bit easier to fly the suit at full speed without it having any drift left/right.

For sure its stuff that will stay.

Just curious, why didn't you like the fins?

I think they're awesome, but I choose not to skydive with them because they're a little annoying in the plane sometimes.

They are too introverted. They drink a lot, and way to comfortable with nudity..

Thank you!

Yes, I've seen the new ones and definitely agree that the design has improved. The old fin design was lacking, but I like what I see now.

Glad to hear people flying them in both configurations. I would likely not use them skydiving simply for convenience.
