Re: [kenny123] BEWARE! Airglide WS/Tracking Suits for delivery in USA
You got the address the suit was delivered to. Go pay them a visit with a slab of beer (if they are nice and give it to you) and a back-up baseball bat (if they are not).

Unfortunately I don't have that address. USPS refuses to release that info. Just got the zip code and (most common in the whole county) last name, first initial of who signed for it. I've sent about 60 Facebook messages to every J. Griego in Santa Fe and called all the ones listed publicly. And used my contacts in the US Attorneys' office and Postal Inspector General's office and nothing. That thing is gonna live out its life on the floor at the back of some whuffo's closet, and I can't even make an insurance claim because the claim belongs to the shipper and, well, they're not bending over backwards. But they did offer to make me another one at full price.

What's the zip? I can probably knock down the list to about 3 people.

Ok. It looks like it's probably one of two people in Sante Fe. One is a trustee that owns/oversees a few properties and the other is a husband and wife.
Can you give me any more info? Does the signature look male or female?

Re: [base570] BEWARE! Airglide WS/Tracking Suits for delivery in USA
Dang I don't know. I don't have the signature, just the digital information provided by USPS (I attached the screenshot). Dude this is amazing that you've narrowed it down this far! Would it be possible to get any contact info you might have for them from you in private message? I would be happy to pay them some cash for my package Laugh

Not yet. I've got the freaking Postal inspector general involved. It's nice to have friends in the right places.

Re: [kenny123] BEWARE! Airglide WS/Tracking Suits for delivery in USA
If it was sent UPS or another carrier other than USPS, then the Inspector General probably can't do much unless they partnered to deliver your package. UPS, Fedex, etc are private carriers whereas USPS is a quasi-governmental agency that has jurisdiction over the "public" exchange of mail.

Hope they can help though!

Re: [kenny123] BEWARE! Airglide WS/Tracking Suits for delivery in USA
FWIW I had something similar happen to me.

I ordered a used parachute from Ukraine. The seller sent the package through his domestic mail service. Once it got to the US, the USPS took over. I checked in every day to follow the tracking info. Once the USPS site claimed it had been delivered, I frantically asked everyone at the delivery address (my DZ, where I have some other mail sent) if they had seen it and, if not, to please look around for it. Someone went to the post office for me and discovered that the USPS had, SOMEFUCKINGHOW, delivered the package to the wrong address. The point of my story is that, as long as you have an invoice or some shipping/tracking data, you should be able to bring that to the USPS with your name and ID to put pressure on them to help you fix THEIR fuck up. Anyway... sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck, dude!

It fuckin-a is my goddamned suit. Fuck me. It's a fucking salvage/thrift store in Burlington North Carolina that IN NO WAY is a front for stolen shit. Well, local cops and USPS cops called. They (Mr. Thrift at 116 South Beaumont St in Burlington) even have a Facebook page, a brick and mortar store, and a live guy who answers the phone. If any of you guys feel like going and taking it, help yourselves. It's S/N 00118. Built for a 5'8" guy.

Ok, let's get acquainted!
Andrei Bretekhin. I work for Airglide Wingsuits and all orders are processed by me. I'm also responsible for customer support and for solving cases like this one.

In reply to:
I ordered one from Airglide.
Right

In reply to:
sent me a pic of my completed suit and shipped it 7 days after order
Right

In reply to:
but someone (them or the Russian postal service) screwed up the address on my box
Wrong. The address was correct, and I've shown you the filled form. The form which was sticked to your box. Once again, here it is:

In reply to:
The insurance claim belongs to the shipper, so you can't do a thing about it yourself. The international mail mishandling claims process is handled by some obscure byzantine UN tribunal process (no shit) that begins with the manufacturer filing a claim with the Russian post office. Clearly that's not gonna happen.
In reply to:
but when confronted with this error they just shrugged their shoulders, said they gave the right address to the post office in Russia, and ghosted on me after I told them about the issue.
I contacted Russian Post the same day you told me that something's wrong. It took them two days to check again address on your package at every point, where it was registered inside Russia. As soon as here everything was ok, they sent me to USPS, because they handle the delivery after package crossed Russian border.

Next step. I contacted USPS customer support by phone and Fb. And sent a claim via their website form. The only answer they gave me was "Send a copy of dispatch form to the recipeint. He should contact his local post office and, probably, the police."

In reply to:
Wouldn't even respond when I asked what they would charge to remake the suit
Wrong.

In reply to:
Just beware of ordering if you're expecting shipment in the US. If something goes wrong, they're not gonna go out of their way to help you make it right even if you're faultless. For their part, they verified I gave them the right address. They're probably OK to order from if you're gonna have it shipped to the EU.
For US orders we use UPS only after this happened. I thought Russian Post is shit, but USPS really impressed me.

In reply to:
Oh well...this is what you get for colluding with the Russians
:(

Kendrick, we're sorry your package was stolen, but there's nothing we could do with this. And instead of going to the police the same day it happened, you went to PayPal support. It definitely helped you to have a refund, but not to return your suit home.

Re: [a.bretekhin] BEWARE! Airglide WS/Tracking Suits for delivery in USA
Hey man, couple things.

I did go right to the police. And the federal agency that investigates mail theft. Since posting this, and after PayPal processed my refund, the federal investigator concluded that you did everything right and that somewhere in the process of mailing (likely in NY), a postal service employee stole the package, peeled the label off, and stuck the label on another package--the one ultimately delivered to Santa Fe.

Before that conclusion, I had no way of knowing it was stolen. It just said it was shipped to the wrong address. The only reasonably conclusion any customer would have drawn with that information is that you screwed up or that it was a scam.

I did my own investigation. For a month. I trolled google, the Craigslist pages for the entire NE United States, eBay, dropzone.com, here; I posted pictures of the suit on every DZ's Facebook page. And after a month of that, it looks like I found the "store" selling it. That's when I reached out to you (yesterday) on Facebook Messenger and told you unprompted that if I can recover it, I will pay you because that is what's fair and right.

As far as the insurance, you may well have spoken with the post office and I certainly believe you, but you still haven't completed the claims process and gotten your insurance money, and out of all of us you're the only ones entitled to do that. So what's a customer to do who gave you $1,000+ and received nothing in return?

I did with PayPal disputing what anyone would have done (i bet you included). No, it didn't get me my suit and I was bummed about that, but it did solve the problem of not getting anything in exchange for a lot of money when it appeared you were at fault, and it was better than taking you up on your offer to make me another suit for another $1,000 (that I had no guarantee of receiving either, given what happened the first time).

I'm happy to delete or edit the original post to provide this additional information that has come to light since it is clear you guys mailed it correctly. And if I miraculously get my suit, I intend to pay you. Let me know what you prefer.

No offense here. Except you told paypal that we put the wrong address by mistake. :)

In reply to:

In reply to:

I filed a claim about this case at our local post office, but still have no answer.

I did the same at USPS website here: https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm?
No answer. And I probably won't have any, because I'm not a US sender.

If you know what else I could do to help, just write me.

If somehow you will get your suit back write full story here :) And we made the only conclusion after all of this - no more USPS and no more PayPal Wink
