One piece tracking suit opinions?
With the current selection of 1 piece tracking suits avaliable, can anyone share their likes, dislikes, and experiences. I am planning to order one very soon and would like to hear fromantic those jumping them.

Thanks

Re: [rushchaser] One piece tracking suit opinions?
What suits are you considering? Cruise+? Sausage? Masai? RBASEG? PF Onesie?

If I absolutely had to have one for this season and was going to order now, I'd probably go with the Sausage because of the fast delivery times, responsive customer service (Mike at Squirrel has been super responsive to everyone I know who's contacted him with issues of any kind) and especially the fact that it's been out for long enough to have some honest field testing from people who aren't affiliated with Squirrel.

But if I lived in Europe, maybe I'd have better luck getting response from PF or SFly, so it might depend on where you are.

You might also consider waiting for more feedback on the PF Onesie. They are only just (like this week for the very first orders) hitting the streets in the USA, and have only been in the wild in Europe for a little while longer, which means there is going to be very little honest feedback yet, since most of the people with them are affiliated with the manufacturer. I've got one on order, and I'm hoping to get it in time to skydive with it and take it to Europe in May, but I'm not willing to BASE jump it without taking it to the DZ first, so I'm not sure they will get it to me in time.

I'm not sure who aside from Antoine is jumping the RBASEG, but his results are extremely impressive.

I know several people with Sausages, and they all have good things to say about build quality and performance.

The Masai was what kicked off the current wave, and performance was good, but build quality doesn't seem to be as high as the other options at this point, from the suits I've been able to look at in person.

Re: [rushchaser] One piece tracking suit opinions?
My biggest advice is do a shit ton of tracking jumps in a two piece first. I think people underestimate the power and quick stall characteristics of these types of suits. Just as you shouldn't start wingsuit base on an aura/su/apache, you shouldn't start tracking on a one piece. People will of course ignore this advice. Some will do fine, some will have close calls, some will die, and some will become internet sensations and may later die. Such is base. Slow and steady wins the race.

If you cant track comfortably past the power lines off high ultimate in a 2 piece, you have no business in a one piece :)

Offtopic, but has the classic ts ever been changed or upgraded? Or has it been the same since it released?

Look like the leg wing is too low. And if you can't run, it's not a tracking suit Wink

I'd even say (given what 2 pieces are truly capable of) that's a relatively low bar that should be easily achievable by anyone who dedicates a bit of study and more than a handful of jumps to getting it done. Certainly anyone who thinks it's too hard or they'll never be able to make it is doubly disqualified from getting a monosuitWink

Re: [robibird] One piece tracking suit opinions?
I still have the original pants. Mesh on the lower leg and everything. They're great. They feel a bit flimsy but they fly well. Technically I should be in a medium, but the Large flies better. The Jacket I have is the power jacket so I have to compensate slightly. The pants are like flying powerful marshmallows. I get a lot of distance when I'm tracking properly and they are easy to control.

Robi, what year did pf first offer a track suit? I got my original pf suit second hand in 2006 I believe, but I did order a brand new pair of bird man pantz in 2004. Rami had the same ones that he cut off into shorts. This modification did not decrease their tracking ability, as they had none to begin with ;)

I still remember the day when we got the last prototypes (that then became the production model of the PTS) with Rami. Had been testing a lot of different stuff but were not raely 100% happy with any of them. Then we got the suits, agreed to meet in LB and did the traditional rock paper scissors who needs to go first. I think I lost, went first and tracked easily from HU over the power lines, half way to the road and pulled super high and was stoked. Rami flew next, easily past me as usual and was equally as stoked. As soon as he had landed we both said "this is THE suit, we have to call Robi". Did bunch of jumps on the day being amazed by the pressurisation and stability of the suit and were even more convinced on this.

Good stuff, miss those times and Rami a lot.

Re: [Fox285] One piece tracking suit opinions?
I have experience on the Masai and the Onesie.

Masai flies good but I struggled to find full performance, probably would have with more jumps.

Onesie was intuitive from 1st jump, have about 7 jumps and already getting reasonable numbers on Skyderby:

Re: [unclecharlie95] One piece tracking suit opinions?
I just want to say that the actual Onesie is not the same as the ones that were made one year ago.
You can listen to nowadays tests, but they are for the actual model.

BTW I think my suits are the bests I ever flew, maybe because they are the only I ever flew.

Re: [Fox285] One piece tracking suit opinions?
Also just do not take the skyderby.ru data for a final result.
To know the real performances you have to find a jump with a contant glide at a constant full speed for at least 15 seconds, this will be the max glide of the jumper with the suit on the exit.
If the speed is going down it means that the jumper is in a flare, it can be a long flare but it's still a flare.
Also compare suits on the same jump, because the tracksuit are very speed dependents, the more speed you got the more glide you can get. The more height you got at the start the more glide you might got from this exit.

So to compare suits performances with skyderby you need:
- same constant full speed
- same exit

For example (of course I will use one of my tracks to compare):
- https://skyderby.ru/tracks/9360: glide just over 2, 2.2 with a light flare as the full speed decrease a bit before the "pulling flare".
- https://skyderby.ru/tracks/14363: glide to 1.9 at max speed and up to 3.5 with a long constant flare until the pull.

For the 2 pull is just around 40 seconds, 2nd one before by 2 seconds, which is 5%, so it's a really faster, BUT compare where the 2 pull happened, where the line is getting dark green again:
And this show that with a glide ratio that is over 2.3 for 15 seconds going over 3.5 you might not going as far as if you have nerver passed the 2.2 glide ratio.

BTW I do not say that my suits is overall flying better by showing this because data are cool, but they really need to be compared to the same ones.

Write me if you want to try Mono too. It still holds all the first places in skydiving virtual competitions on skyderby
https://skyderby.ru/virtual_competitions/20/overall
https://skyderby.ru/virtual_competitions/19/overall
https://skyderby.ru/virtual_competitions/18/overall

BTW, we fixed that thing with tight arms, in all new Monos you can fully raise your arms while standing. It wasn't a problem, as for me, but anyway, customers asked for it and we did it.
Shortcut
Re: [a.bretekhin] One piece tracking suit opinions?
As I already said on the Mono thread on this forum or on FB, I do not remember exactly, for me the Mono is an hybrid as it has a leg wing (airfoils).
That does not make it a bad suit at all, I think it's a very interesting concept, and I will surely copy it, but it's no more a tracksuit for me.

Nice fix for the arms :D

Even if I like arguing there is nothing to argue about here, as I said my way to categorized suits his very personal:
- a tracksuit has to be just a larger body without wing
- a wing is something with a foil as a rib

Mono in MY definition is not a tracksuit, it's the one piece version of the Prodigy pant with a PTS chest.
Again, it's a very good hybrid concept as it's keeping a good freedom of movement with good performances. I will make my own version of that kind of suit when I will have some time, but for sure I will not call it a tracksuit, my guess is that I will call it an hybrid.

Antoine,

You've come up with a great idea (at least it seems to be for me)

Can a Prodigy type trouser work with a PTS type jacket or will it be unbalanced in some way?

Mixing these designs seems to offer a great "halfway solution''

(I will have to ask Robert the same question)

With the Prodigy 1 I think it could work, on the 2 the leg wing is bigger and you'll need the "sides" of a one piece to balance it I guess.

The Access (the first wingsuit I flew) had a legwin probably smaller and the bottom was not attached to the top, I'm pretty sure it will fly good with just a tracksuit chest.

Re: [Lukasz_Se] One piece tracking suit opinions?
The TwentyG2 has clearly a legwing and armwings, it is a wingsuit for me.
It's also a nice concept as you have almost freedom of movement for the arms so it's safer than a normal wingsuit.
I think the large sides of the onepiece tracksuits are more efficient than the mini-armwings of the TwentyG2, but I would like to try the bottom part with an inflatable chest.
Shortcut
Re: [AntoineLaporte] One piece tracking suit opinions?

"...but I would like to try the bottom part with an inflatable chest"

This definitely makes so much sense. I would imagine a leg wing is a much cleaner and a much more aerodynamic sytem than using a huge bloated cloth system. Then as you mentioned, perhaps balance it with a fuller, bloated jacket design.

I wonder why has this not been made already or has it?
Shortcut
Re: [John_Scher] One piece tracking suit opinions?
For a 2 pieces it has not been made I think.
For the onepiece suits you have the Mono from Airglide we were talking about, "normal" up (no wings) combined with a legwing. That's why I was not calling it a tracksuit but more an hybrid.
