Many people have started to ask me about Malaysia 2017 BASE jumping events.

Preliminary event information can be seen at www.kltowerjump.com.

Sibu BASE Jump 2017 is currently scheduled to take place from 21st to 24th September. Participants will be required to arrive in Sibu by midday of 20th September for an afternoon briefing.

Gua Damai BASE Jump 2017 will take place on 26th and 27th September.

KL Tower BASE Jump 2017 is currently scheduled to take place from 29th September until 2nd October, with a briefing on the morning of 28th September.

They target 100 participants for Sibu BASE Jump 2017. Sibu has been good to us over the years allowing us to jump off their building, so we want to repay the favour by being focussed on achieving that target. That means there is unlikely to be any spots available for those only wanting to participate at the KL Tower event, as all spots will be taken up by those participating in our Sibu event. So I suggest to all that are interested, to plan on attending the Sibu BASE Jump 2017 event if they want to go to KL Tower this year.

Applications usually start some time in May once all event details have been finalised.

The application process has been slightly delayed while Menara KL appoint a new local events management company to help look after the event. Once this is finalised, and Menara KL release final event details, then applications will open.
I expect it to happen soon (in Malaysia time).

Applications are now open for Malaysia BASE Events 2017.

We are looking for experienced BASE jumpers that have consistently demonstrated good judgement with a sensible and cautious approach towards BASE jumping. They should be able to reliably jump without incident at our events. This includes being able to land safely in the designated landing areas without crashing into any buildings, trees, lamp posts, cars, people, or any other objects.

Applicants will only be considered once they have all of the following:
• Completed at least 120 BASE jumps.
• Completed at least 20 BASE jumps within the previous 12 months.
• Been actively BASE jumping for at least 2 years.

For the “Visit Sibu 2017” tourism campaign we have 100 slots available for the Sibu BASE Jump 2017.

The 100 spots for KL Tower Jump 2017 are reserved for the applicants that we invite to Sibu BASE Jump 2017 that actually make it to Sibu.

Spots to attend just the KL Tower event will only be released much closer to the event if any spots for Sibu BASE Jump 2017 remain unfilled.

The small town of Sibu has been good to us over the years giving us access to their building, so we want to give back to them during their “Visit Sibu 2017” campaign. There are many BASE jumpers that really enjoy and look forward to building jumps, so at this stage we do expect to fill all spots available Sibu BASE jump 2017.

We do realise there are many modern BASE jumpers that do not like the idea of having good access to a nice building to jump from for a few days, and it has upset their hope to attend only the KL Tower event this year.
