Base Jumper presumed dead after an accident in mountains
Nesset (NTB): Basejumper that ended up in the rock wall when the parachute is not deployed out during a jump in Goksøyr at Eresfjord og Romsdal Sunday is presumed dead.

Jumper plunged from about 1,200 meters altitude and landed on the mountainside in 7-800 meters altitude. A few hours later confirms police he believed to have perished in the fall, after a doctor had been up and observed from a helicopter, according to Adresseavisen.

Police have not been identified the man yet."

"Rescuers retrieved Monday morning down base jumper who fell in the mountains during a jump in Goksøyr in Eresfjord Sunday.

- The jumper was dead when he was taken down, confirms police.

The night before had a doctor observed jumper from helikopterm and jumper had probably perished immediately following the fatal jump from Goksøyr.

The man jumped from 1,200 meters, and the parachute was not out. The man hit the mountain wall at 7-800 meters altitude.

BASE accident in Nesset

The police can not yet say anything about the identity of the jumper or where he is from. The man has not been identified."


The wind was recorded 5-10m/s at the time of Wingsuit exit. Witness(the farmer) from the landing area says he could only see jumper tumble after exit until impact with no parachute.
Jumper was experienced, current at this exit over the last 4 days and jumping alone.
