BASE jumping is expensive!
There are many people who get into BASE under the false impression that BASE is less expensive than skydiving. This can be true to some extent but I have found it to be more expensive overall with travel and such.

Excluding the cost of gear(unless damaged or confiscated) what is the highest price you have paid for one BASE jump? If you go on a BASE trip and the costs of the trip come out to $3,000 and you make 10 jumps then each jump comes out to be $300, as an example. Injury and incarceration costs can be figured into the trip/per jump calculations.

Personally for me I think the most expensive jump was Angel Falls where I only got to make one jump. The total cost of that jump with airfare, lodging food, alcohol, etc., probably came out to be $4,000. Shocked I've done plenty of other trips that the per jump costs were hundreds of dollars as well.... maybe I should go back to skydiving and save a little money!

I think BASE is as equally expensive as skydiving. And to some extent, actually equally expensive with pretty much any other thing you really want to do. You will end up using all your (and maybe some borrowed one as well) money on it. :)

Utah and I alledgedly opened the highest profile building downtown after 2 years of study and recon. Detectives came to my office the next day, fast forward 8 months and a $5,000 lawyer split between us it all kind of went away.
So $2,500, 2 years, and one night in jail (on my wife's birthday, she loved that part) for one iconic building.
Was it worth it? yeah, in retrospect, it was.
Would I do it again? maybe. I've dialed it way back in the sport this past season, and for the first time, am totally okay with that.

hit a deer on way to object -> $2000 including rental car
hit a thick tree branch on another dark road leaving an object -> $750

Naaa its cheapWink at least for me it has been so far... i allways make sure that im not traveling just for the jumping, so that if i dont get any jumps at all i will still have fun whenever i go. It is much more expensive if the only purpose of the trip is jumping. Imagine you dont get any jumps at all Laugh thats what happened when i went last year to the UK. 2 months and no jumps. I got busy doing other stuff..

I jumped Angel Falls back in November of 2001. 9/11 almost derailed the trip.

We spent $1,000 for the helicopter and spent nine days total in Venezuela. I don't remember the air fare. Or what we spent on hotels. Or what the hut and meals in Kavac cost.

We got two jumps off of the falls in one afternoon. The most epic jumps ever.

I would have spent triple for that experience.
