We at World Tracking Foundation (like foundation for sick puppies) believe terminal base tracking is the best foundation for WSBASE.
Most of the best WS pilots today have a solid background tracking.
Most of the best WS pilots today would recommend a solid background in terminal tracking before entering WSBASE.

Many lately have asked their BASE brothers and sisters to slow down and take a step back.
What does that mean? How do we do that?

WTF2016 has been working with Aleks at https://skyderby.ru/en and Michael at http://www.flysight.ca/
to build a data collection platform for terminal tracking using all available suits and custom suits.

We challenge all current WS pilots to take a step back and re assess your skills. Come track with us and show you are flying your bodies to the best of your ability.(Robibird has already anticipated this will not happen)

We invite all prospective WS pilots (these will be the generation to make a difference) to come track with us. Learn to fly your body to the best of you ability before adding the extra surface area. Learn to feel speed create´s lift. Learn to track like a MF before strapping in to WS.

This is online events/virtual competitions that are always in play. You can exit from anywhere in the world and join our data collection team in 20sec and 30sec events.

The collection of definitive data ensures you know your ability. So if you want to go track Via Ferrata you will know whether you are actually capable..

With freely available data from people that have trained and specialised in particular suits you will be able to accurately assess your skill level.

Should your skill be at 75% of xxx to begin WSBASE?

There is no payment required. There is no rules.
Measurements are made after 15kph vertical speed is achieved and distance is measured in a straight line.

I often relate either upsizing suits or downsizing canopies

to riding motorcycles: you can buy a bigger faster bike,

but the person who is able to ride better usually wins.

Developing skill impresses me more than your wallet.

Sure, I can totally understand your misguided overconfidence.

A quick check shows i cross the river from Low U at about 14sec. As our data shows acceleration to max forward movement is possible for 20sec.

Great idea/concept with asking people to take a step back AND to share data but in the end we all know its not going to change the overall outcome...

This is a very basic chart following formula 9.8m/s squared.
The chart describes the acceleration of a falling body in spread eagle/arch position until MINIMUM terminal velocity is achieved VERTICALLY. You will see the note below:NOTE: The above data will vary from jumper to jumper and body position to body position.

When we are tracking we are no longer falling straight down so the mathematics begins to change.

From the real life data we have collected it absolutely shows it is possible to accelerate up to at least 20sec while tracking. Once maximum forward speed is obtained this could be described as maximum terminal velocity of vertical speed.

My flysight shows me from LU i am still accelerating until just before i open. Therefore i would describe a jump from this altitude as sub terminal as i have not reached terminal velocity in a tracking configuration.

That's makes sence I could definitely not get a max track speed in that time frame.

At least it may help people to understand a little more about what they are trying to achieve.

This is a tool that has helped all involved so far to improve their performance.

#13 in open 20 sec race should be fine to start wingsuit base or... it´s just cliff jump no. 3 but who cares just kidding... the next 100+ uploads from me are tracking jumps.

I think your just fear mongering toward all the new and wanting BASE Wingsuiters .
I heard this phrase of ' Jumping Slick ' for the 1st time about 5 days ago while I was packing . They told me this type of BASE jumping stunt is not encouraged at most common BASE destinations anymore .

First jump students at Kjerag are required to jump slick for I think their first 3 jumps.

I think most people are still starting terminal jumping with at least a couple of slick jumps before putting on a tracking suit, at least that's what I did and what I've seen many others doing in Norway and at Brento.

Excellent article. But if you learn to track to the best of your ability you will have these skill set built before strapping on your WS.
