Any issues with torn slider mesh?
I just recently noticed my slider is torn (not quite sure how).

Does anyone have any experience with jumping slider up with a slider that has torn mesh?

Does it make that big of a difference, why or why not.

Thanks

Possible Velcro on ya tailpocket check it out gets attached and when ya pull it off it can rip the slider

can you elaborate on how big the damage is? is it torn from one side all the way to the other? of is just a few of the strands broken and now you can put your thumb through?

Slider Damage
I have fixed torn mesh with some hand stitches.

I have fixed torn sail slider with rip-stop tape.

Both repairs continue to work to this day.

Broken strands or an actual tear? I have an old Troll with numerous broken strands in the slider and have never given it a second thought. I believe mine to be wear caused by stowing the slider.

Edit: Large Mesh or Small? I feel that the large mesh is more prone to line burn than the smaller mesh too.

Re: [Fledgling] Any issues with torn slider mesh?
It is a pretty much a brand new slider. I got the canopy earlier this year with only 1 slider up jump (maybe 50 slider down), did not use direct control. I am assuming it must have gotten snagged on something but honestly I am not sure as I have around 400-450 slider down jumps and never once have i had an issue with a slider catching on anything. I noticed it after packing post slider up jump.

See photo attached. I put a quarter in for scale.

Thanks

You can stitch that up by hand with some E thread. With a hole that big there is a chance that a bight of lines or your tailgate could get stuck in there.

Yeah that looks like a tear to me. Your assumption about the snag would be the most likely culprit. The problem with Sliders is that they are cheap enough to make them not worth repairing. Unless you can do it yourself for the fun of it.

make a "slow slider" out of it
just throw on two slider tapes covering the tear and you can sell it as "still crisp" :-)
