My go to is a 36" AdrenalinBASE. Squirrel recommends 38".
What do you use and why?

What I use: 38"
Why: Cause squirrel recommended it...obviously.

I used a 36" in a big suit for a long time with no percieved issues. I saw others switch to a 38" and gave it a try myself. I prefer it. Openings are still comfortable, but I feel like my canopy gets to line stretch quicker....leading to more predictable openings (for me).

I used a 36 f111 for suits up to the v3. When I switched to an early Apache proto, I noticed I was having more off headings than I ever had, especially during a hard flare before opening. Switched to a 38 zp and this stopped. I consider a large wingsuit BASE jump to be a sub terminal slider up jump. 38zp is my go to for this type of jump, wingsuit or not. That being said, I don't think a 36 is going to kill you, especially if you have a smaller lightweight canopy, but I've found the 38 results in more consistent openings for myself.

36"zp Asylum for my 230 ultralight.
38"zp or 40"f111 for full weight canopies.

Do those sizes follow suit with toxic's, for you?
or do you not use?
or mark no noticeable differences?

36 snatch on my osp 225 ultra light. It performs well with that canopy but I'm getting a 38 snatch for wingsuiting.
I didn't like the 36 with my 240 mojo, the difference in the opening sequence with a heavier canopy was very noticeable and too slow for my liklng. That was with my small suit, pulling in close to full flight. I'll let you know how the 38 performs once I get some jumps in.

 

36" I'm a skinny guy flying a troll 245.

It s not about the suit but about your speed deployement. For example i know some guys who use 42 (su) because they pull eacjh time after a big flare.

Question: are you pulling during the flare or flaring and then going back into full flight and pulling ?

People vary a bit, but this is an excellent read!

Yup, see above post. I used to flare and pull at the very top of the flare. Opening were super soft but more prone to twists/off headings. The techniques described in the squirrel post, id say my opening are a little firmer, but more consistent as a whole.
