It had no current registration. Aside from that, it was parked away from the normal area, near the resident garages under a cover with the permission of an owner. So as far as I can see, there was no reason to go and destroy the vehicle. That is all sorts of fucked up.
I did a quick search on this forum for words "camping stechelberg" (change the dropdown menu on the search form from whole sentence to all words) and found this message from Michi which might give you a hint why this happened :
http://www.basejumper.com/...um.cgi?post=2974800; "Important note:
Stechelberg Bahnen has complained that there is a lot of camping in cars or buses at the parking lot of the Stechelberg Bahn.
Please know that it is illegal to camp in Switzerland outside of official camping grounds.
Please stay at one of the camping grounds in Lauterbrunnen during your visit." So maybe next time, do a bit of research and play by the rules in the country which you are visiting. The point here probably is, regardless whether you had a permission from the specific garage owner or not, the Stechelberg Bahn is pissed about cheap ass jumpers using their parking lot as an illegal camping ground and turning it to gypsy camp for summer only to go down to the Horner in the evening and spend all their money on chf5.80 beers... Remember, the Stechelberg Banh is trying to run a legit business there and the major customer group for them is NOT BASE jumpers (believe it or not!). So most likely they do not want their prime customer group (being normal tourists) to have to witness bunch of weirdly dressed hobos smelling like shit (since they haven´t showered for 2 weeks) taking a piss in the morning in front of the tourist group as they crawl out from their campers after hitting it hard on the upstairs of the Horner until 4 in the morning. So don´t be an idiot, drink couple of beers less and camp at a designated camping area (which there are plenty in the valley). And you will not have your camper towed away.
I hope you will find a resolution to your transport problem and despite of this minor inconvenience, I hope you a fucking rad season in the alps.
