Just curious and with nothing better to do tonight. Can somebody list from heaviest to lightest the typical weights of rigs on the market. For example, OSP265, F111 with Apex DP definitely heavier than a Zak3 (ultra light - parapack/cameron light) with a Peak. How many lbs are we talking about? Enough to make your hike/climb easier?

It may make the hike a little easier and the flight too but
In order of importance

1 stop eating so many pies and candy and get some exercise
2 harden the fuck up
3 then worry about light weight rig

Lol...Just for your reference: I weight 149 lbs, run 1.5 miles in 9ish minutes and 5 miles in less than 35 minutes

then continue with steps 2 and 3 :P

So, getting back to the original post. What are the typical weights of rigs in the market.

The gear is going to weigh what it weighs! It all depends on what you are looking for. A standard F111 260 with Dacron lines in a container with three rings and links (Non Slinks) could range anywhere from 15 to 20 pounds, again it all depends on what you want or what you need. My personal gear is a Yeti from Skunk Ape Base (with Slinks) and a standard 245 OSP Dacron lines weighing in all together at 13 pounds out the door now the biggest contributor to container weight gain is simply the fabric. 1000D Cordura = 10.8 oz per sq yard / Heavy --- VX21 Terrain X-Pac = 6 oz per sq yard (Big Picture Almost Nothing). Don't chase the lightest gear, focus on using the right tool for the right job.

Buy yourself a cheap fish scale.

Useful to weigh both gear and pull force.

Your local Walmart has them for five bucks.

Zak T had a home built rig with a light weight 180 in it my guess would be it was 6 lbs, I have a 240 and mine is 15 so im sure there are 17 lb rigs out there

I recently weighed 2 rigs with a fish scale:

Zak 2 + Fox 315 (5 vents) = 8kg
Apex Summit + Lightweight OSP 285 = 6.5kg

Translated to 'Murican!

For the average Murican option 1 should be sufficient.

Also, why all the shit throwing about "dont worry about gear weight"? He even said it was just curiosity. I was curious to know as well. I underestimated apparently. I was thinking 10lbs.

my Profile (Feather260) weighs about 12lbs if i remember correctly and another full weight rig (w/BlackJack280) was around 23lbs. i didn't want to post it because it was a while ago that i weighed them and don't remember the numbers for sure... but that's a good ballpark.

According to my highly innacurate bathroom scale my LD3, OSPlite 225 and lightweight Sukhoi are 18lb, and my gargoyle, Troll225 and standard weight Colugo are 22lb. My LD3 still has 3-rings and normal fabric, so a rig with integrity risers or full UL setup like a Jackdaw, with non-vented canopy like Peak or Niner could probably be looking at a couple of pounds lighter again.

It's enough to be an immediately noticeable difference on the shoulders, and while it won't make any difference to the legs on the stroll from the bus to the Brento exit for example, it'll definitely cut down on fatigue on steeper, longer hikes. If you're walking for hours and climbing thousands and thousands of vertical feet then less weight will mean happier legs, and happier legs mean better flying
