Shipping from the USA is way to go. Buy the stuff from paragear and at the same time buy some other stuff you might need (closing loop material, soft links, ripstop tape etc).

Fishing line is a safe bet maybe if you know how many wraps + the knot degradation in strength. Also garbage bags cut and rolled to your specs.
Food for thought. I used the Garbage Bag method on my student for the Cristo Redentor jump in Brazil.

The pack job was special and the link to the object anchor was 1 meter.
Knot engineering is important as well. A bowline, palsteck knot reduces the strength by ca 50%.
I can tell you more on the design of break cord DIY or you can just order some from Paragear.

Never thought about using fishing line, but it makes sense. Would love some more info on that DIY stuff. The more you know and all that.

Thanks for the paragear link guys, need some doodats from that place anyway.

Got messaged by someone in Norway that has some break cord spare, so I'm sorted for now.
