Jamie is cool as shit from the few times I've met him and a serious badass from some of the things I've heard about him. Awesome guy and I'd bet he bought somebody some beers with some of the money he got from that.
Someone says "hey you're really cool...I'll pay you $500 if you let me interview you and use your video clips". What do you do? I have no idea if it was that much, but still...blame the editors. He has no control over the presentation, which was not done well for you or I, but for their target audience...maybe?

Jamie seems to receive a fulltime salary and be doing fully paid and catered basejumping trips from his sponsor/employer.
So by that definition, he seems to indeed be a 'professional basejumper', where-as a lot of other 'professional basejumpers' are actually working in a bar to pay the bills, and by that definition not a actual professionals.
Amazing skills, personality and/or ethics may be regarded as a 'professional attitude', but just looking at the definition of the word, getting paid to jump is the only thing you need to do to qualify as a professional by the dictionary...
