My father has a farm with 1,700 acres and friendly local town planning and zoning. I was joking with him and said I wanted to build an antenna to jump on his property and he told me I was welcome to. What started as as a joke has turned a bit into an obsession.

1. Can I legally jump on my own property? (Upstate New York)

2. What would you build if you had this kind of open space to yourself? An antenna? Something 300 to 500 feet high maybe?

I've got a little cash and a friendly property... what can I do?!

If i ever come into bulk money im doing it...and if its your own land who cares about the legalities of it...they cant bust u for trespassing

I believe this has been discussed previously in a few different threads over the years. There would be a number of permits required (eg local zoning, structural, etc.), but most importantly the FAA.

As for capital, used antennas are available if you google enough (again, other threads are instructive). If you opened it up toothed jumpers, they could share the construction cost with you.

They can't be that expensive. TV stations still have them, but many stations are small. Also, everyone is on cable. Very few get their TV via an antenna on top of the TV set.

If dumbasses can successfully raise thousands in a GoFundMe campaign to [insert dumb shit here], you can surely herd enough BASE jumper cats to crowdfund the antenna if you already have the land.

I have often entertained this idea, just dont have the land. C'mon lottery. If there was a fund to buy/build one, I would surely donate.

I'm not sure if it's a problem to have the land but not the money for the stick... but I've got the land. I'm sure plenty of jumpers do.
