I am working on something to deal with pinlocks and wanna get an idea of the general consensus. It would be nice if you post a "Why" with your posts. Thanks in advance. Take care, space
Is there a diff choice if you are not going stowed? I am mostly thinking about 4 + sec but all responses will help. Takecare, Space I dont mean going handheld 4+sec.
Unless you were flip around the pins for a hand held to open in the opposite configuration. Not trying to be a dick but I don't think you understand the opening sequence.
Ok bottom first always unless you have a floating pin that has been proven to have locks then it is possible to have the top pop first that is the idea behind it.
I could have told that the floating pin would suck even before seeing it in BASE. I was a Sailor, and really liked the art of mech advantages vs disadvantage. This is not about floating pin. Whoever jumps a floating pin is not on my load. I refrain from giving more opinion so I can hear others with less experience in rigging. I will develop an opinion after. Take care, space
I selected "Other" because my top pin pops first on handheld and my bottom pin pops first when stowed. The longest delay I've taken is about 3 seconds though, so I might not quite fall into your data set. Tall things scare me.
Top flap opens first. The bottom pin releases, then top pin, then the bridle pulls the canopy out from the top which pushes the top flap open first. Just guessing.

How does that work? I cant visualize it. Take care, space.

I think when Tracy says "top flap" and "bottom flap" he means the same thing as "top pin" and "bottom pin". I think that regardless of pin order, your top and bottom flap will pop open simultaneously (after the side flaps).
You are correct. I see the discrepancy in my poll post. My apologies for lack of clarity. I do like most others and prefer top grommet to open first on sO or sD- my top and bottom words = top is in the shoulder area. Slider up jumps are normally tracking openings, so that scenario is bottom pin first. Thanks for the input. take care, Space
