could not believe you werent wearing spiked boots or cramp ons at exit.. then was glad you did not when landing on your friend :)

3 rings rock, they've helped me in tree situations.. although i've never had to use them in water.

next time if that happens (not sure if you knew, or the adrenaline was still pumping) just grab your rear risers and reel it in hard and fast.. still will be super heavy/wet and you may not have succeeded but by pulling from the back of the canopy you're spilling out whatever water has collected in your cells and is adding momentum in the current.
