F111 or ZP pilot chute subterminal SU
Has anybody noticed much of a difference in slider up sub terminal openings (specifically heading performance) in the range of 4-6 sec when using f111 vs vented ZP pilot chutes? In what order of significance would you arrange items below as far as their order of priority when it comes to sub terminal slider up heading performance.

1) Packing
2) Body position
3) Pilot chute (oscillations, PC size..etc)
4) Wind
5) Wing loading
6) Vented, non vented canopy
7) Karma Angelic

Note: I am aware that in a slider up configuration vents do not help much but they do tend to make openings snappier, which I like for sub terminal slider up.

Body position is everything. No matter fast or slow deployment, if your all fucked up it will most likely not be on heading.
Wind directly affects the way the pilot chute will get pushed to one side or another.. if the wind pushes the pilot chute hard right, then most likely you'll load the left riser first causing an off heading to some degree. so wind and pilot chute are 2,3.
Then packing. You can obviously do some things that will cause an off heading, but not likely if you know what youre doing and don't take a phone call while packing :)
Wing loading I doubt has a lot to do with heading performance because all your heading problems will happen either in the packjob or during deployment. Wing loading will make your canopy open faster, which might lead to worse things like spinning up under your canopy after a hard opening if you're not symmetrical.
And lastly vented or non vented.. same thing here as the previous. It will cause it to open faster with vents, which wont necessarily cause an off heading. A non vented canopy might be more likely to dance during opening if its sniveling for a while though.
And then karma. Fuck Karma

What the fuck are you guys taking about? Pilot chute and heading. You can use anything in 4-6 second delay 36-42 pilot chute material negligible probably 32 would work. Jump more use ideal and see what works for you.
4 seconds I use 38 I think it's zp 6 seconds plus I use 36 zp

It was a tongue in cheek comment suggesting that the likelihood of a slider up subterminal off-heading goes up proportional with the level of danger presented by the object.

And yeah, a 32" can work after a 5 second delay. Still not the best idea thoughWink

I have used my ZP vented 38'' on everything between 1 sec and terminal. Seems like a perfect all-round PC (maybe except very low go n' throws)

About packing and heading. With a (fairly) good packing, body position on opening is much more important when it comes to heading performance, but it's good to keep in mind that even the world's most perfect position will not correct a fucked up pack job.

I used a 38 off High nose and Nose 3 and didn't like it and went back to a 36 for the rest of the trip
38 toxic, 36 apex
