Just moved to the area...living 45 minutes SE of Raleigh. Looking for some locals to start jumping with.

I'd say go snoop around at paraclete. What I've got from talking to some people last time I was up there is the few in the area don't really get on much and are pretty quiet about it. If you make it down Charleston ways, then I know who to talk to.

Base570 still posts here from time to time. He's old and crotchety but opened most everything in NC.

I totally agree with 698, I have fond memories with 570 and also a few with 698. Definitely get in touch with the locals, always.
