It is also against etiquette to talk shit that you don't know about, 700-800 BASE jumps makes anyone, young or old, a BASE jumper.

 

Yes, and if I may add, Damian was your friend, and he was a friend to many, many in the community, especially here in So Cal. We all feel the pain of the loss of his laugh. BSBD and RIP my friend.

Not directed to last poster. Damian was also a old, old friend of mine and of course an icon at Perris. Stayed in contact sporadically via cb, but his profile was deleted. Any details regarding g the circumstances? It has been a rough week in CH... Sorry for everyone's loss in Damian, he was a beautiful soul.

Damn. I met this guy this season when he just showed up. We actually talked quite a bit and I enjoyed his company. I was looking forward to seeing him again. It was a pleasuring meeting this man who seemed genuine. Ground control to major Tom.

Oh no. We were great friends. I video'd a 4 way team that he was on, then a little later was on an 8 way team with him. We still keep up with each other on FB.

He was super gifted in the air. Supremely gifted.

Somebody tell me that it wasn't him.

Does anyone have details on what happened? There is no need to be quiet. All of his friends know, and ceremonies are scheduled.

Again, he was an incredibly gifted body flyer. One of the best that I ever knew.

I could be totally off from my info. When he showed up to the valley I noticed he was jumping a vampire race ( i think). It sounded like this was the suit he had been jumping and was current on . The days we were in the valley together he had been working on starts off high nose. Sounded like to get back in the groove. I'm not familiar with the jump this incident happend on but from what I hear it's full on coming from a reliable source. I heard he was jumping a new aura and lost control diving the suit on terrain. I have no idea if this was his 1st or 1000th jump in that suit but assuming since he didn't have it when I saw him my guess is low numbers . If this is the case it's a warning that we need to spend time preparing for new suits , jumps , or even canopies before you send something . However hard the jump or good you may be. If this was the case this was a very avoidable mistake and hope we all learn something from everyone of these threads. Seems like someone gives the same type of lecture every year that falls on deaf ears. Please be safe and use our brains out there. Jason.

Thanks for the info. Damian was a supreme body flyer. One of the best I've ever seen.

He had an amazing life. An amazing story.

It is hard to see how a guy who was that good could die, so any answers are welcome. I know he spent a lot of time in Europe last year flying.

Don't be afraid to post up info. When something like this happens, to a guy who was that proficient, any info helps. Not knowing what happened is worse, trust me.

Damian was in an Aura.

Damian was jumping an Aura , the conditions were perfect and Damian was in his usual upbeat loving life mood.This was his 3rd or 4th time jumping here.Damian jumped second with a good exit and was seen flying around the first corner in fine form. His body was found approx 2/3 through the normal flight with nothing out.We have no video and see no point in speculation. Damian was truly a fucking most righteous dude and the fucking amigos spirit will be missed on future skydives.
