Landing Card for Lauterbrunnen
OK, I'll try not to post to much regarding SBA.
But we are observing that more and more jumpers don't buy the landing card in Lauterbrunnen.
Please, please don't be cheap. You can pay your landing cards here:
- Horner
- Tourist Office
- Air Time
- Basepoint
Give us the 5 minutes of your time and the CHF 25.--, the money goes to the farmers on whose land you land.
Please spread the word among the jumpers, thank you!!

Re: [Mikki_ZH] Landing Card for Lauterbrunnen
last year before my first trip to the valley (first jumping trip) a jumping friend gave me one of this cards for free in return for a favor. since this landing cards are not nominal after arriving in LB I've purchased another landing card at the Horner pub and the REGA insurance at the postal office witch is within 1min walking distance from LB cable car station or LB train station.
since most jumpers get the season pass or monthly pass its easy to have this landing card sticked on the pass to show support for the place we jump and maybe a good idea would be if every base jumper before boarding the cable car or the trains(we can be easily spotted in the crowd by our stash bags) should be checked by the ticket controller for the threes(landing card+REGA+3rd party liability ins.).

Maybe SBA can suggest this to the local authorities. I, for one, will support it.

Will be in LB next week for the First time this year. Registered for the Landing card, will get it immediately when I arrive. Also checked that my Rega was paid (which it was). Would not think of jumping in LB without those.

And here's a man that did his homework! Awesome, loving it! :)
You should also have a valid skydiving-license (to be adhering to the rules completely, but lets look over that!), but that's just as a side-note! Good for spotting the others! Smile

That last thing we need in Switzerland are more rules.. that's for sure. Just police yourselves.

What is the point of the skydiving licence if you have Third party liability insurance covering basejumping?
Shortcut
Re: [alygator] Landing Card for Lauterbrunnen
because it is one of the conditions fixed by the insurance to cover you. Wink

My military insurance don t ask for skydiving licence to cover me for base jumping

Re: [alygator] Landing Card for Lauterbrunnen
then you don't need the swiss insurance.
Your military insurance does as they wish.

I mourned the loss of IHI's policy when that was withdrawn... Does this Generali policy include other territories besides Switzerland?

As an aside, visitors should take note: the Swiss authorities tend to be fairly relaxed until there's an incident. Then, so help you if you don't have the right qualifications / licences / insurance for what you're doing. I've witnessed a snowboarder get arrested following a collision on the slopes with a skier in Wengen...

Edit: and is paragliding included, or just hang gliding?

Insured with domicile in Switzerland - whole world
insured with domicile abroad - only switzerland

The term "Hängegleiter" in switzerland is used for both paragliders and hang gliders. paragliding is included.
