Anybody have any experience with the Alpine version of the Apex harness they could share?

I own two rigs with them.

Honestly, I can't see that they are any better than just slinging the hip rings (or hip junction) and creating a sliding X to rappel from.

I have 2 Vertex (had in fact, already sold one) and a Prism with the Alpine option.

Back when they started doing this option, it was a nice thing to have. Just need a carabiner and you were able to repel down in any places, no more surprise at the exit point.

But now, with the new ultra light climbing harness, I think it's useless and add too much weight to the rig.

I use this harness for top rope rock climbing. Its less than 100grams, was pretty cheap and has no bulk to it.
