Power Tracking Suit vs Sumo Flight question
My buddy has a PTS and I have Sumo. We did a bunch of sky jumps this weekend and in each of the jumps. His track in his PTS is much steeper than mine in the Sumo, we cover approximately the same distance but he gets there faster. Should I be trying to track steeper in my Sumo or are the flight characteristics different between the two suits?

Thanks in Advance

Re: [rushchaser] Power Tracking Suit vs Sumo Flight question
Does he have more experience? I've flown the PTS over 50 times and the Sumo once. The Sumo was a lot flatter and slower, but I don't blame the suit, i blame the pilot.

Re: [Bealio] Power Tracking Suit vs Sumo Flight question
The sumo wants to fly flat, but when you push it over you can get amazing glide. In my experience, much better than the PTS. I did have a similar experience where I thought it was flat until someone told me you had to consciously keep pushing it over. Pretty surprising difference.

Bealio - Yes he does have more experience.

jjrise - OK thanks for the comments I will push to tracker steeper.

Thank you

Re: [rushchaser] Power Tracking Suit vs Sumo Flight question
That's weird. I was always told one should track the PTS flatter to get better results. As soon as you dive it (The PTS), it gets quite/very unstable. That's my experience and the experience from people I know personally. That said, indeed, the pilot does the trick, plus I like te fact that the Sumo has backfly inlets. If you want to go for a real good tracking suit, I'd advise you to go for either an Intrudair normal tracksuit, a PF normal tracksuit and as last option the PTS or Ultimate of Intrudair.

Just my 2 rupees.

I've never seen a Sumo with backfly inlets. Is this a new thing?

I attached a screengrab of my preferred body position for performance in the Sumo. Really push your head down and forward and extend your neck.

I thought those backfly inlets were standard. Any Squirrel rep here who can confirm this?

I am a Squirrel dealer. I've never seen or heard of a Sumo with backfly inlets. Where on the suit are they located?

eUrNiCc,

I will give that a shot next time I am able to jump. I think the weather is going to be shit here this weekend. Thanks for the Pic also!

No idea, never seen or jumped one, but I remember people talking about them. Maybe they don't make em anymore.

I've jumped the PTS, Sumo, and Intrudair Ultimate.

Ease of flight:
PTS
****
Sumo
*****
Ultimate
***

Speed:
PTS
****
Sumo
****
Ultimate
*****

The Sumo is my favorite. Mostly due to the "no-wobble" system. It really makes the suit feel like an extension of your body. Its bigger then both of the other suits yet is much easier to fly.
The Ultimate is a bitch to get started but once you get her going she becomes a speed beast.
The PTS was nice. I could fly it flat at 63mph. Sumo at 57mph. Ultimate at idfk it hates flat

Why do you post fall rate speed? This has no value in my opinion. I'd like to know your glide ratio with each suit.

Because I do not own a flysight...yet
Alls I know is I cover over 2 miles of ground each jump with either.

Re: [Shredex] Power Tracking Suit vs Sumo Flight question
Shredex,

Do you try to dive the Sumo steep? Or do you just getting out and track flat? Do you fly any of the suits stepper than the others?

Re: [rushchaser] Power Tracking Suit vs Sumo Flight question
I'm sorry but I was only able to put a few jumps on the Sumo, and each of those I was flying with my buddy in his Aura...(so I was trying to stay floaty). I injured myself very soon after so haven't been able to get back in the sky.
