It has been a while since I've needed to buy a pilot chute. I seem to have a lot of those, but I found myself needing to order a new 42.

I used to build them at ASYLUM and while I worked there I put an immense amount of effort and attention to detail into every item I worked on, knowing full well that you and I would be out there that night all over the world entrusting our lives to the gear. I was absolutely confident that we were building the highest quality, most precisely built, and best performing pilot chutes available. Period.

Well as some of you know I had some differences with ASYLUM and we went our separate ways some years ago.

Still though, when it came down to buying a pilot chute that I would be personally jumping, I needed to be intellectually honest with myself about where I would obtain the best tool available for the job.

I ended up dropping Martin Tilley and email and ordering up a new 42. Black please, in the lightest feeling ZP you have.

The next evening it arrived in the mail and you can bet I went over every stitch, dimension, and junction on the thing.

Guess what? It's perfect. There's literally nothing that could have been done better on this pilot chute. It's refreshing to see the philosophy of perfection still being applied and executed at ASYLUM.

Guess it may be time to order a new Perigee Pro.

I can't speak to the quality but I placed an order over a month ago, got the email that stated they would be contacting me to finalize the order and I have yet to hear from them. Guess there has to be a give and take. Good quality, piss poor customer service. Oh well, I have now placed an order with a different manufacturer and the order is processes and my new PC should be here this week.

The quality is very high, and yes, there are some customer service and delivery time issues.

Rushchaser, I have stock Asylum PC's in most sizes on my shelf at the school if you want one.

Weird i sent an email last week while in panama and marti responded within a few hours with what he had in stock for toxics.

yeh same thing happened with me......dont no what the deal was but yeh i went elsewhere

I got a new stash bag from them last fall and had a similar issue as rushchaser. After 3 weeks and I still hadn't even been charged, I called them and they threw a tshirt in the box with it. I'm happy with the stash bag I got, it just took over a month to get it.

If you want the best gear, you have to be able to wait for it to be made, by hand, by Marty himself.
The toxics are hands down the highest quality and straightest pulling pcs, ever.

Yes from your extensive pilot chute experience. I've jumped them all some ocolate some go to the side some go straight up. Never had an off heading from a pilot chute. As long as it pulls it out the container I don't give a shit.

Well for the record I placed an order in April, and its now July and I still haven't heard a word, so I guess you really got to wait a while! I am not that patient, but thanks for the words of encouragement!

yep theres nothing better then sending credit card details to someone that never replies lol....fuck that shit....i ended up buying pc from base dynamics instead...they are good to deal with and good quality

Too bad Gerald isn't on here any more. He could tell you what the best PC is and why the others suck.
