Anybody have any experience with shipping a rig from Europe to the US? I'm getting some quotes for 400-500. Seems high. Any regs on duties and taxes would be helpful. Thanks

I've had several rigs shipped from Europe to the US for around $100.

What shipper are you using?

I've gotten a quote from UPS, DHL, FedEx and the Swiss PO. All but 1 (no reply) have been over 400.
So what shipper did you use?

No clue on taxes and duties but if you can find a military bubba to ship it for you on his/her base or post it'll be a lot cheaper. I sent a rig recently for ~$60 to the west coast; all we have to pay for is the cost from the east coast (NY) to destination.

Just normal mail service. Shipping of my Venom took just 7 days.

Via DHL from Germany:

up to 5 Kilogramms 34.99€,
up to 10 Kilogramms 46.99€

For Premium (Priority) handling add:

up to 5 Kilogramms 16.00€ (50.99€ total)
up to 10 Kilogramms 32.00€ (78.99€ total)

Adding Premium (Priority) makes sense, shipping is much much faster.

the best way is to ship from anywhere but Switzerland. They are all bastages. Swiss post and all couriers.
