Using Drones to find new lines and recon new spots?
Was looking out of the window today which overlooked the top of the adjacent building's roof. On the roof I saw the placement of security cameras, stairwell doors, potential launch points, etc... I mentally drew up a plan of how I could huck this thing. Then I saw a drone fly by. It dawned on me that drones could be used to scope out new spots and fly potential new lines. So just wondering if anybody has used them for this? Attaching a camera, GPS, etc you could potentially get data re: lines and exits? Thoughts?

Re: [tikiman] Using Drones to find new lines and recon new spots?
I saw this bank last week - it's a small local branch, not much security and the police station is in the next town over, so I started doing recon by you know, hanging around inconspicuously and painting a mental picture of how I am going to rob it. Next thing you know, I'm looking over at the park across the street and I see these bird watchers using binoculars. A few of them even had these cameras with really long lenses that look like they can probably see really far.

After mulling the scene over In my mind for a few minutes, the realization hit me: why can't I use these things when I'm planning my bank robbery? If they can help you see a bird at a distance, surely they would allow me to keep a safe distance while I keep track of the security guard shifts, survalence cameras, etc...

I was really getting wary of spending so much time loitering in front of the bank and exposing myself to the risk of identification, so I'm glad I had this epiphany!

But being the prudent person that I am, I just wanted to be sure that I was indeed onto something so I thought I'd head over to bankrobber.com and ask about other people's experiences - and boy am I glad I did! They were really helpful - they shared everything with me. They told me all the best settings for my camera, they regaled me with stories of their bank robbing exploits and they even saved me a bunch of time by explaining to me that you have to look through the small side of the binoculars, not the big ones.

Shveddy,

Do you know of a forum for convicted sex offenders who are looking to employ binoculars or drones to recon parks and playgrounds from a distance?

I'm asking for a friend.

I haven't checked, but I'm willing to bet that sexoffender.com (also a D4DR Media property) has plenty of information about it, however I'm afraid that going into any more details would violate the terms of use listed here: http://www.basejumper.com/About/Forum_Rules_513.html.

Tell your "friend" I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.
