Re: [tikiman] Using Drones to find new lines and recon new spots?
I saw this bank last week - it's a small local branch, not much security and the police station is in the next town over, so I started doing recon by you know, hanging around inconspicuously and painting a mental picture of how I am going to rob it. Next thing you know, I'm looking over at the park across the street and I see these bird watchers using binoculars. A few of them even had these cameras with really long lenses that look like they can probably see really far.
After mulling the scene over In my mind for a few minutes, the realization hit me: why can't I use these things when I'm planning my bank robbery? If they can help you see a bird at a distance, surely they would allow me to keep a safe distance while I keep track of the security guard shifts, survalence cameras, etc...
I was really getting wary of spending so much time loitering in front of the bank and exposing myself to the risk of identification, so I'm glad I had this epiphany!
But being the prudent person that I am, I just wanted to be sure that I was indeed onto something so I thought I'd head over to bankrobber.com and ask about other people's experiences - and boy am I glad I did! They were really helpful - they shared everything with me. They told me all the best settings for my camera, they regaled me with stories of their bank robbing exploits and they even saved me a bunch of time by explaining to me that you have to look through the small side of the binoculars, not the big ones.
