Anyone know what the scene is like around there, or the north island as a whole? A work opportunity has come up, so considering moving there from Melbourne. It pays less than my job now, so the main lure for me would be a chance to get more active, and just do fun shit in general ie. surfing snowboarding etc

Not a whole lot of jumpers, but theres an 80m train bridge and a like 100-120m ish E in the Taihape area. Ridge soaring site at raglan and bowentown near waihi, and of course the mount in tauranga. Definitely more PG/mini PG soaring than base on the north island. South island is a playground.

Do it man! NZ looks sick! I know there is a bit going on in the south island...... Look up Milford Sound!

Thanks guys, I definitely want to make it happen but it looks like I'm heading to the wrong island...guess I should just look for a job in the south. Problem solved.
