Night Vs. Day in recent history
Talking with a buddy last night about the differences between night jumps and day jumps, the benefits and down sides to each, and extra fear associated with a night jump (mainly the landing). Being new to this, all of my jumps have been night, and theirs been either a little moon or some patchy snow on the ground for the most part, I haven't experienced a surprise PLF while I'm staring at the horizon trying to figure out where the ground is. We came up with our own thoughts as to what the night / day ratio might be, and reasons for it, just curious what it actually is and maybe get some more reasons for peoples choices.

Probably depends on where you jump.......All of my jumps are at night and bandit jumps... expect the ones that arent : )

Unless I want to make cross country road trips more often than I should, I'll be in the same boat. We have places to day blaze up here, but the night objects seem to be easier to work in around a work schedule.

I would have thought the numbers on the poll would have come out a little different, night BASE Vs BASE numbers don't give any indication that the poll should be this close.

Daytime is nice, but bandit daytime jumps shouldn't really be made on objects with a history of being steadily available at night
in recent weeks, an unknown 'local' jumper has started jumping Buildings during morning rush hour right next to major freeways.
Would be nice to find out who thinks that's a good idea, especially when the building in question has been getting jumped for 7 years at night with no incident.

Regardless, my local daytime jumping is limited to 2 remote antennas, or the building I lived in where an 'understanding' was created between management and myself.
otherwise, my daytime jumps are on legal objects far away from my local municipality.

224-daytime (43 bandit)
274-nighttime (261 bandit)

There are a bunch of available units there.
pretty cheap too.
I was paying 600/month for a 700sqft apartment on 14th floor.
there was a 2 bedroom on the top (18th) for 1000/month, but I didn't need that space, and i had easy roof access.
Its in somewhat of a ghetto neighborhood though.
I was probably one of the few caucasians that lived there.

Guys on the other side of my state were talking about similar stuff going on around here, that's what prompted the "wonder if the mid 20 something out of towners are just scared of the dark?" conversation. This is my first year jumping and I've already seen the collapse of bridge day, I'm all for tar n feathering the guys that are burning the objects that are still jumpable.
