Would a chat room help eliminate some of the forum pollution out there?
There are tons and tons of threads and most, have 5 to 8 useful posts and then they go to chit chat.
also would be fun?
could it be a hazard for site burning and stuff?

We used to run a chatroom in the early 2000s on Dropzone.com and while it was used a lot back in the days of mIRC popularity - with time it died out and last year we gave it a go again to see how it works out. Ultimately, it showed us that most people seem to prefer a forum discussion, which is easier to contribute to on mobile devices and stuff. There is also a fear of useful information slipping by. Where as a forum ensures that anything that may benefit future readers stays published :)
