Chamonix locals
Hey everyone!

From the 25 of January till the 7 of February I’ll be speedriding skiing in Chamonix.
I’d also like to jump a little. I’ve already jumped in this area from Magland, Louis Philippe and Belvedere. I know about Brevent, but I’m not ready to jump from it at once, - I’d like to start from something a bit easie. (I had a 4 month break).

Is it possible to get to Croix du fer now? And can someone take me there or to the other exits (with vertical part at least 7-8 sec.) ?

P.S. I've got 450 BASE jumps, WS Jedei.

"big" jump with hike are not really jumpable on this season, depending on your climbing skill

Everything is possible, as Alygator said, depending on your climbing skills ...

Because of the snow, you'll need snowshoes to get to the edge. Around here, we are more and more using these ones in winter to do big jumps in the snow :

Easy to use, durable and easy to put in your wingsuit.

Croix de Fer may be tricky because of the lapiaz (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limestone_pavement) hidden bellow snow bridges ... it's easy to get in one of these and get hurt ... and right now, the snow cover is not really deep, so it'll just hide the holes without beeing strong (but it's snowing today). Cross country skis may be better if somebody can bring them back down ...

And for the last part, you'll probably need crampons (steeeeep !) ...

Mountain jumps in winter is a lot of pain and fun Cool but i will not go with you on this one Wink

Good luck

Re: [MontBlanc] Chamonix locals
I understand that winter is not the best time to jump in high mountains :)

Just want to ask, is there any exit, which don't need snowshoes and difficult climbing (like Magland or Belveder).
If not, I'll wait for summer.
