Mark it repair or clothing, and just ship it to Atair.
Ive seen them repair canopies that looked like they survived the apocalypse and worse, and they came back like new.

Where in the USA?

I'd either send it back to Atair (which could take longer) or try to find Pete Swan at Lodi (if you're on the west coast).

Lots of good riggers out there can do the repairs though. Knowing where you are located will help find someone.

Apex did an awesome job with my Troll, lots of big patches but no change in cell design.

Quite right.

Some riggers are masters with a sewing machine. Others... well they should stick to reserve repacks.

Re: [Phil1111] Troll canopy repair recommendations
Recently sent my troll mdv back to atair. It had seen plenty of urban action and had the war wounds to prove it.
Asked them to assess the damage and whether it was worth saving (reckoned it required brake lines, Velcro and several patches at least...)
Worth saving was the answer; re line, new zp nose, patches where necessary, Velcro-and It would be like new.
Had the work done, got the canopy back-it's like new!!
Glad I took their advise.

hello,

sorry for digging up this "old" thread, i just wonder how expensive such repairs are and how long it usually takes atair to fix a canopy :)?

Read the post above yours.
How expensive? it may cost you your life.
Where are you located?

Re: [flooooooo] Troll canopy repair recommendations
Repairs are usually sorted within a week or two (up to max 4 if busy), and returned. And cost, depends on how much work/what the damage is.

But on any lifesaving device, Id always go for a top-level repair, and nothing less...

Re: [mccordia] Troll canopy repair recommendations
hello,

thanks for the reply. i had more contact with a lovely tree than i would have liked, now my troll has 2 vents more than it had before the jump. its already been sent to atair, i just wanted to know from someone elses experience how long they usually need for repairs.
i would never consider jumping damaged/not in good shape gear ;)
cheers

Re: [flooooooo] Troll canopy repair recommendations
I had the entire center cell replaced after a really fun 180. The branch went in the bottom, out the top and back in again. Completely fucked it. The repair was flawless. I had new lines and risers put on as well, so I can't remember the exact price. Maybe EU250...?

Re: [flooooooo] Troll canopy repair recommendations

FL BASE has had multiple severely damaged Atair canopies successfully repaired and returned to service. DHL shipping is expensive and slow, but every canopy has come back home in complete "Air-Worthy" shape.

so just to sum up my experiences, maybe its of help for someone:

shipped damaged canopy to atair, they checked it within 10 days and had everything repaired within another 5 days (weekend included). its been shipped immediately after the repair was finished and i should have it back tomorrow.

awesome support, quick response times per email, super fair prices!
