Hard openings
I've heard it from time to time that leaving a rig packed for an extended period of time can lead to very hard slider up openings. Can anyone confirm this at all and possibly explain the technical reasons for this?

Disclaimer: This is not a concern of mine, just something that I've heard a few times and it's just idle curiosity speaking. But, if anything, I would have assumed it were just the opposite if anything.

Re: [CaptainScotty] Hard openings
Because if it's left packed for too long the jumper has gone soft by the time they jump it next?

Lol and i would worry about other things like mold mildew etc plus i have seen ants trying to build a nest in my skydiving rig once

I just jumped a rig that had been packed a couple months. Didn't notice a difference.

Heard of ZP canopies sticking together but f111 canopies should be all good since skydiving reserves are packed tight like a brick for 6 to 12months with no problems and yeh seriously fucking ants etc the cunts love to make nests anywhere lol

well for example... my second rig that was packed when i got hurt in KL in 2012, was left untouched and unopened until i took it to the Perrine this summer, almost two years later. i was not even sure if it was slider up or down, but it's the Perrine, so i didn't care. it opened fine for my first jump back.
