How I can I be of service to the sport of BASE?
I am fascinated by the sport of BASE! Maybe because I had done olympic ski jumping in my youth and familiar with both: stepping into the unknown and flying your body aspects. However, I am not contemplating to jump of an object. It seems way premature for me and it will be for a long time since I only have ~100 sky jumps as of now.
But.. I can't help to be so fascinated by the sport as I have said before. I can't help myself when I find myself reading this forum time and time again (I must have read every topic there is under General that exceeds count of 15 posts) and switched to Technical and gaining more theoretical knowledge on the aspects of BASE. The neurons in my brain start to fire when I read about bridle lengths, packing slider up or down, BDS, etc. I love every aspect of parachuting and I enjoy skydiving a lot and find myself (and by others too) being quite good under the canopy. But I am used to be in the environment that gives you a visual reference of how fast you are actually going and I am still addicted to it even though it has been a lot of years since I last jumped with my skis.
But that's not the point. The point is I want to be of help in some sort of way w/o any expectations. I will gladly ground crew. I live in Tampa Bay area and willing to travel some to facilitate it.
Sincerely,
~m
