Line wear from slider and PSA
Hey guys. Every now and again I'll do a very slow packjob and inspect the canopy more closely than usual. When doing so today, I noticed that my slider had a few tiny dings that are causing noticeably asymmetric and increased line wear so I took it off and am gonna order a new one. Most of my jumps are slider down (dings on the slider will still wear on the lines if you're slider down). I realize this has been discussed before; however, I know a lot of friends who never look closely at their gear, so if you're one of those people...take a closer look every now and again Tongue

While I only see one fray in one stitch of one bartack, you can never be to safe. Would you like to give me the slider? I could honestly use it and would pay for shipping.

No need for a new slider. Take it to a rigger and have them replace the damaged grommet. Easy and cheap.

All the bartacks on all the lines were frayed (compared to no fray at all on the other side). I agree it's totally fine atm, but I plan to make 200-300+ more jumps on this canopy and over that many jumps it could really damage the lines (especially if I do more slider-up and it's wearing the length of the line as well as the bartacks near the risers).

I may be able to ship it to you...but it'll be a few weeks at the least since I'm going to order another one.

bro... you should really probably reline that thing every 300ish (?) jumps anyway... I mean why not? It's your only canopy when you use it; keep it up to date. Since you do mostly slider down, the center A's and B's have to be going out of trim pretty good already anyway... So just put new lines on. Wink Solves the problem.

Just an idea... not necessarily the right one.
